On 26th February 2018, LETTERS LIVE, in partnership with NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER, will be making its first public appearance in the United States at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

Since its first London show in 2013, Letters Live has been moving packed audiences to both laughter and tears by celebrating the pain, joy and wisdom preserved in letters written throughout the ages, expertly brought to life on stage by an ever-changing cast of some of the most acclaimed performing talent from around the world.

Inspired by Letters of Note, the bestselling anthology compiled by Shaun Usher, and To the Letter by Simon Garfield, over the years Letters Live has unearthed letters sent by people such as David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Mohandas Gandhi, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Kurt Vonnegut, Charlotte Bronte, Richard Burton and Che Guevara, and placed them in the hands of such luminaries as Benedict Cumberbatch, Carey Mulligan, Elizabeth Banks, Jude Law, Juliet Stevenson, Colin Firth, Gillian Anderson, Ian McKellen, Mary J. Blige, Oscar Isaac, Russell Brand, Thandie Newton, Tom Hiddleston, Sally Hawkins, Stephen Fry, Nick Cave, Olivia Colman, Danny Boyle, Sir Ben Kingsley and many more.

The result is a show like no other and a truly unforgettable journey through time. Expect the unexpected, safe in the knowledge that Letters Live will make you appreciate the humble letter like never before.

Ticket prices range from $50 – $200 plus booking fees. All profits from tickets sales will be split and donated to Los Angeles-based non-profit organization 826LA--dedicated to supporting students with creative and expository writing skills--and Women for Women International, a non-profit humanitarian organization providing practical and moral support to female survivors of war.

“Letters Live makes us pause and imagine the lives behind the letters read and the circumstances of their origin. The relationship between the audience, reader and writer on a Letters Live night helps deepen our understanding of these inspiring artefacts of the human condition. They are windows into the love, beauty, pain, and humor of their creators and recipients. It’s a privilege to read this most ancient of communications live to an audience.”
